Subject	Can someone please explain this tire size related question?

Message	I was trying to calculate which width and sidewall height tire I should buy to keep my car as close as possible to factory spec, and something struck me: Here's what TireRack.com recommends as far as 18" tires go for the Z: 245-40-18" Front 275-35-18" Rear as opposed to the stock size: 225-50-16" Front 245-45-16" Rear. So far so good, right? Until I calculated the overall dimension of the wheel once those tires were assembled, and came up with appox 1" difference between stock & what's recommended for 18" wheels. 18" wheels OD comes out to about 25.7" with tires whereas stock size is more like 24.7". Is this 1" to be expected? Does it have any influence on the car?
